Introducing Resource Efficient Event-Triggered Tasks in an RTOS

چکیده
In this paper, we present an integration of predictable, resource efficient event-triggered tasks in an RTOS by introducing a task model suitable for example control software and component-based software. The task model, denoted single-shot execution (SSX), can be realized with very simple and resource efficient run-time mechanisms and is highly predictable, hence suitable for use in resource constrained real-time systems.

Efficient Event-Triggered Tasks in an RTOS
In this paper, we add predictable and resource efficient event-triggered tasks in an RTOS. This is done by introducing an execution model suitable for example control software and component-based software. The execution model, denoted single-shot execution (SSX), can be realized with very simple and resource efficient run-time mechanisms and is highly predictable, hence suitable for use in reso...
متن کاملEfficient Development of Real-Time Systems Using Hybrid Scheduling
This paper will show how advanced embedded realtime systems, with functionality ranging from timetriggered control functionality to event-triggered user interaction, can be made more efficient. Efficient with respect to development effort as well as run-time resource utilization. This is achieved by using a hybrid, static and dynamic, scheduling strategy. The approach is applicable even for har...
متن کاملCycle Time Optimization of Processes Using an Entropy-Based Learning for Task Allocation
Cycle time optimization could be one of the great challenges in business process management. Although there is much research on this subject, task similarities have been paid little attention. In this paper, a new approach is proposed to optimize cycle time by minimizing entropy of work lists in resource allocation while keeping workloads balanced. The idea of the entropy of work lists comes fr...
متن کاملCycle Time Reduction and Runtime Rebalancing by Reallocating Dependent Tasks
Business Process Management Systems (BPMS) is a complex information system that provides designing, administrating, and improving the business processes. Task allocation to human resources is one of the most important issues which should be managed more efficiently in BPMS. Task allocation algorithms are defined in order to meet the various policies of organizations. The most important of these...
متن کاملSysRT: A Modular Multiprocessor RTOS Simulator for Early Design Space Exploration
Modern embedded systems increasingly accommodate several applications running concurrently on a multiprocessor platform managed by a real-time operating system (RTOS). The increasing design complexity of such systems calls for good design tools to evaluate real-time performance during the very early stages of design. To this end, fast system-level simulators that allow for efficient hardware/so...
